About Me

Welcome to 187 Days with Mrs. Hayes! I teach 10th and 11th grade English in Etowah County, Alabama. This is my 9th year as an educator. I love everything about teaching, reading, and eating! From planning freezer meals for the upcoming school year to organizing papers and closets, I hope to provide a variety of topics for my daily blog.

A little about me....

I am a third generation educator. My grandmother, my mother, my aunt, my sister, my sister-in-law and my cousins are all teachers! I am never at a loss for ideas or inspiration for my classroom, because one of them always has something to share. Our family teaches everything from kindergarten to university-level Biology labs.

I am married to a wonderful man that always keeps me on my toes! Justin is an attorney in Gadsden, Alabama. We love to travel, but especially with the University of Alabama football team. We have two rescue dogs, Buster and Barkley. Justin and I love to play the roles of "fun aunt" and "fun uncle" to our two nephews, Owen and Lane, and our niece, Jameson.
